Project in a Nutshell:
Migrate current inspection spreadsheets to a modern web-based database solution and integrate with ERP solution.
CAID Industries manufactures and repairs cathodes for customers worldwide. To track and manage inspection and quality assurance, they utilized spreadsheets extensively. We partnered with CAID to design and develop a web-based database management solution to capture, track and manage welding and crating inspections, and automate laser etching.
This project, while still in development, will interface with Made2Manage ERP solution to streamline and improve data capture. This solution was built using ASP.NET and SQL Server.
Goals and Objectives
CAID had been using spreadsheets to manage cathode inspections when a database solution was a better option. Migrating away from Excel was their first priority, but they also wanted to improve data accuracy, efficiency and scalability. Additionally, they had a tight budget and schedule, allowing only three months to complete phase one.
We weren’t given a lot of time or budget to plan, design and build a database solution for CAID. To make things more interesting, during the development of the project CAID decided that the new custom software would need to integrate with Made2Manage, their ERP solution.
The new database solution, while still in development, will provide a scalable solution to track and manage cathode inspections. The new solution integrates with CAID’s ERP solution and provides a streamlined user experience, which improves data accuracy and visibility.
